Details of the tour

A five-day experience on the shores of one of the most fascinating lakes in Greece, accompanied by the best local guides, in search of unique perspectives to photograph the exceptional birdlife of Lake Kerkini.

During the tour we will explore several selected locations for bird watching, with a special focus on pelicans. At this time of year, these extraordinary animals gather along the shores of the lake, providing breathtaking views and plays of light and shadow that make every shot special.

The pelican population of Kerkini is famous for its beauty and ease with which they can be spotted and photographed. Whether it’s close-ups of detail or wide-angle shots, the photographic opportunities will be numerous and varied.

Get ready to experience a photographic journey full of emotions, in a natural context that seems made especially for nature photographers.

Photo Sessions

We plan 6 photo sessions: 3 at dawn and 3 at dusk.

Pelican sightings are guaranteed, and we will take advantage of the best light hours to focus on taking the most suggestive shots.

We will have at our disposal photo sessions both on the boat and from land: boat trips will allow us to get much closer to the animals, offering the opportunity to also use wide-angle or short focal lenses, to portray pelicans in their natural habitat with engaging and impactful compositions. Land sessions, on the other hand, will give us the opportunity to obtain more dynamic shots and to work with longer focal lengths, better controlling distances and framing.

In addition to pelicans, Lake Kerkini is home to an amazing variety of birdlife: cormorants, spoonbills, kingfishers, herons, ibises and many other species that will make every day full of photographic and observation opportunities.

Location

We will be staying in a small village surrounded by nature, in a welcoming family-run hotel in comfortable double rooms equipped with all necessary services. The hotel is located just 20 minutes from the photographic point ensuring comfortable and fast travel every day. Among the services available: Wi-Fi connection, heating, private bathroom and towels.
