Destination

In the wild heart of the Andalusian Sierra Morena, among rocky hills, holm oak woods and silent valleys, there is one of the best places in Europe to photograph the Iberian lynx In the wild. During winter, this area takes on cooler colors and a unique atmosphere, while birds of prey soar through clear skies and wildlife becomes more active.

Winter coincides with the lynx mating season, a time when males vocalize, explore new territories and move around throughout the day. This makes it the ideal time for a photographic tour dedicated to the Iberian lynx, with a very high probability of sighting.

The area, remote and little frequented by traditional tourism, is home to an extraordinary biodiversity: golden eagles, griffins, monk vulturesdeer and numerous species of Mediterranean raptors and passerines.

With Just Explorers, you will have access to reserved locations not accessible to the public, selected over the years by our photographers and local partners. Each activity is designed to guarantee the highest photographic quality, the best camouflage, and a completely environmentally friendly approach.

A professional photographer will accompany you throughout the trip, providing technical, creative, and logistical support. Our team will also be available before departure to guide you through preparation, equipment, and every necessary detail.

During the winter, our activities include full-day photo sessions, ideal for tracking the Iberian lynx at any time of day. During mating season, the species can appear in the morning, afternoon, or even during the central hours.

The photo booths are located in arid areas, open clearings and strategic water points, essential in winter for the local fauna. The stations are large and quiet, equipped with high-quality anti-reflective glass, which allow you to take photographs without disturbance and with excellent optical performance.

Distances from animals may vary from 30 meters up to a few centimeters, with spectacular scenery where lynxes approach the lodges in complete tranquility.
No decoys, food or artificial stimuli are used: each sighting takes place in full naturalness.

To optimize time in nature, the lunch is provided as a packed lunch by the organization and consumed directly in the shed.

Hotel

We will be staying in a welcoming and heated structure, located just a few minutes from the main photographic points. The rooms have Wi-Fi, air conditioning and hairdryer, ensuring relaxation and comfort between sessions.

Michael Lovera

Born in Cuneo in 2001, I live in close contact with the Western Alps, where my passion for nature was born. With a degree in electrical engineering, I find serenity and satisfaction only when immersed in the woods, backpack on my back and camera in hand. Starting with passerines, today I photograph every form of life, from the smallest insect to the largest mammal. In my images, I seek light, clarity, and detail, to enhance every nuance. After years spent in my mountains, I began traveling abroad, driven by curiosity and a deep connection to nature photography.
