We are in Finland, immersed in the tundra of the east of the country. Here, immense forests extend for hundreds of kilometers, creating an ideal ecosystem for the large mammals and many other species.
Numerous mammals live among rivers, lakes and coniferous forests, including wolves, bears and wolverines, the main protagonists of this tour. But not only that: these lands also host lynxes, foxes, moose, reindeer and an incredible variety of birdlife, including agolden eagles, white-tailed eagles, Lapland and Ural owls, howls and much more.
With this workshop you will live a total immersion in nature for 5 days, photographing from the best huts and supported by a professional photographer. The Just Explorers team will be at your side to best organize every detail of the trip.
Don't miss the opportunity, places are limited!
4 nights in a double/triple room
Michele Bavassano
We will meet at Kuopio Airport and, with a private transfer, we will drive deep into the Finnish forests until we reach our Base Camp.
After settling into the rooms and having dinner together, you will have a briefing with the professional photographer, and then we will move straight to the huts, where we will spend the night waiting for the first photo session at dawn, with the hope of spotting our first wolves, bears or wolverines.
In the following days, the program will follow a rhythm marked by photo sessions at dawn and dusk, interspersed with moments of relaxation in the base camp, where a cook will take care of our meals. During the stay, a complete photo editing lesson is also planned, where the professional photographer will show you a professional workflow to optimize your shots.
On the last day, after the last session and breakfast, we will depart to Kuopio for the return flights.
To best prepare you, you will have a team of experts at your side, ready to give you advice and useful information. You will be placed in a WhatsApp Group Chat, where you can meet your travel companions and receive material containing all the details on equipment, clothing and everything you need to make the most of this experience.
Get ready for an incredible photographic full-immersion with 4 spectacular sunsets and 3 sunrises, spending the night in our exclusive photographic huts so as not to miss even a moment of this adventure.
The photo sessions will start at 05.30pm when we enter the huts to set up the equipment and prepare for the sightings. They will then continue until 08:00am the next day, giving you the maximum opportunity to immortalize the large mammals of Northern Europe in their natural habitat
The huts are comfortable and inside we find space to stand up, lie down and comfortable chairs to shoot, making the wait much more comfortable. No glass, two slits for each photographer and comfortable beds or mattresses to sleep in the few hours of the night, dry toilets if necessary. All the huts are heated for perfect comfort even in winter.
Depending on the sightings, we will alternate locations to guarantee you the best photographic opportunitiesThe group will be divided between different huts, optimizing space, tranquility and comfort.
We will live this adventure in close contact with nature. Our Base Camp is located on a peninsula surrounded by a frozen lake and a magical forest.
Made entirely of wood, it is equipped with all the necessary comforts: hot water, heating, electricity and Wi-Fi. Here we will spend the hours between sessions, relaxing in the silence of nature. Sleeping in the huts, we will use the Camp mainly to organize ourselves, recharge our batteries, eat and prepare the equipment. The accommodations include double rooms with bunk beds and shared bathrooms for the exclusive use of the group.
The Base Camp has common areas where we can relax, download and edit images, with snacks and hot drinks always available.
A few steps away from the structure there is a small manger, where we will be able to observe squirrels, woodpeckers and various species of passerines, offering us further photographic opportunities even in the central hours of the day.
