In the heart of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, Between ancient beech forests, mountains And high-altitude meadows, nature occupies every environment making this place one of the wildest in Europe.

This park, among the oldest in Italy, hosts a rich biodiversity, with a prosperous population of wolves and above all the emblem of the park, theMarsican brown bear, endemic species of these lands.

A a concentrate of emotions and wild nature condensed into a weekend: this formula short but intense It is perfect for those who have little time available, but still wants live a complete and stimulating experience.

Two days rich in activities, field sessions And close encounters with the protagonists of the Park: deer roaring, Apennine chamois, foxes, wolves and, with a bit of luck, the rare Marsican brown bear.

Led by professional photographers and nature biologists, we will make the most of every moment of the day, focusing on the best hours of light and visiting some of the more scenic locations of the Park. The nature excursion will be enriched by ethological explanations, practical sessions And personalized advice.

This version is ideal for those who want approaching nature photography with an approach aware and concrete, even in a limited time. It is also perfect for those who want test new equipment, can be rented on site, And experience an authentic taste of professional photography in the field.

Photographic Activities

The days are structured around the two more suggestive bands of light: sunrise and sunsetIn these moments, we will dedicate ourselves to silent stakeouts And traveling photography in the company of our teachers.

The goal will be observe and describe the fauna in a way ethical, authentic And visually powerful.

Among the planned activities there will be practical sessions in strategic points of the park for sightings and exciting shots, excursions on foot or by car on trails approved by the Park, use of professional equipment with the possibility of rent lenses, cameras and supports even just for a few sessions.

We will experiment with advanced techniques such as long exposures, silhouette, backlight, always with constant support by the tutor photographers for refine visual language.

It will all happen in respect for the territory and its inhabitants, following a photographic and ethical code of conduct that enhances nature without ever disturbing it.

What You Will Learn from This Workshop

This is not just a tour: it's a true training path in nature photographyParticipants will receive technical and theoretical notions, but also a human baggage made of experiences, encounters and awareness.

You will learn to move and observe like a naturalist, reading about animal behavior. You will learn the basics of ethology and biology applied to photography, the techniques for taking effective shots in the field, optimizing light and composition.

We will manage the together complete workflow, from the shot to the professional post-production, with a course included.

You will find out how approach wildlife ethically, without forcing or interference, and as tell a story with pictures, enhancing the environment and biodiversity.

Saturday, September 13th

Meeting with participants at the reference facility (9:00/9:30) and hotel accommodation. This will be followed by an introduction to basic nature photography techniques and a presentation of the Abruzzo, Lazio, and Molise National Park, focusing on the biology of the area's main wildlife species.

Visit to the official headquarters of the National Park for a meeting with the institution's officials and technicians, who will illustrate to the group key aspects related to the history, management, and conservation of the protected area's biodiversity.

12:00 PM – High altitude excursion Towards areas frequented by rutting deer and their predators. A stalking session will last until sunset, in a picturesque mountain setting.

Dinner at the hotel with typical Abruzzo specialties and overnight stay.

Sunday, September 14th

Wake up before dawn and set up a stakeout in the valley floor areas, in search of deer in full rutting season and, with a bit of luck, Apennine wolves. This will be followed by a short photography excursion through the woods and clearings.

Return to the hotel in the central part of the morning, dedicated to analyzing captured images and providing a comprehensive look at post-production. The lesson will illustrate the workflow applied to nature photography: noise reduction, contrast and color management, file optimization for web and print, and other fundamental technical aspects.

12:30 PM – Official conclusion of the workshop and final greetings.
You can extend the experience with aoptional afternoon photography outing, at a cost of €30 per person.

Jonathan Giovannini

Graduated in computer engineering but his true passion has always been the mountains and photography. Over the years, his interest in exploring nature and capturing its beauty has transformed into a necessity. Always searching for the perfect moment, he strives to capture the magic of sunsets, wildlife encounters and the essence of the natural environment. He works as a professional photographer specializing in landscape and nature photography.

Matthew Gaglio

Born in Pisa in 2000, Matteo Gaglio is a nature photographer with a deep passion for wildlife and ethology. From a young age, he developed a strong interest in animal behavior and the pristine beauty of ecosystems. Through his travels in Italy and Europe, he explores extraordinary environments in search of stories to tell through images, capturing emotions and unique moments that reflect the essence of the natural world.

A DSLR, mirrorless, or bridge camera with at least a 300mm lens is recommended. A tripod, extra memory cards, and a camera backpack are also useful.

A rental service for Canon, Nikon, and Sony camera bodies and lenses is available, which can be booked in advance through the organization.

By booking by paying the deposit to the organizers you accept the following clauses:

1. Since this is a pre-registration, the organizer will endeavor to promptly communicate any possible change in the price of the tour, characterized by cost fluctuations. An annual price fluctuation of around 5% is highly likely if booking is made more than one year in advance. in relation to potential changes in prices of ground services (for example changes influenced by fluctuating costs of electricity, fuel and more).
