In this period the European wolf It goes through a particularly active biological phase in preparation for mating: this doesn't mean it's easy to observe, but it's certainly one of the times of year when the species is most present and mobile in the area. Learn more about your experience

The journey begins at Warsaw, where you'll be greeted directly at the airport and transferred to the cabin area. From now on, you'll have nothing to worry about: All transfers, meals, assistance and logistics are included, so you can focus only on the photography and the experience.

The second day will start the intense part: three full days dedicated to the huts, entering before dawn and maintaining the position until sunset. This approach allows you to make the most of the entire day without missing a single useful moment, especially in winter, when daylight hours are limited but extraordinarily favorable from a photographic perspective.

The days in the hut alternate waiting, moments of sudden action, low flights, perches, interactions between birds of prey and the possibility of the presence of the European wolf, always unpredictable. This alternation creates a particularly emotionally engaging experience: we observe the movements, the calls, the arrivals, and every evolution before our eyes.

The continuous presence of a professional photographer It makes the experience even more complete: technical support, settings management, real-time advice, preparation for the eagles' movement, and analysis of the shots in the evening at the hotel. The group spends these days together, sharing emotions, discussions, doubts, techniques, and results, giving the trip an added value that is difficult to replicate individually.

Photographic Activities

The hides are designed specifically for nature photography and without the use of glass, with a huge advantage over image quality, on brightness and sharpness.

The slits allow you to work comfortably with long telephoto lenses and also to obtain shooting points at ground level, perfect for separating the subject from the background and achieving a more natural perspective. Winter conditions, often characterized by soft light, contribute to clean images with particularly pleasing tones.

THE'’white-tailed sea eagle will be the main subject, but the area can offer meetings with foxes, roe deer, woodpeckers, jays and other species that sometimes frequent the open spaces in front of the huts.

The European wolf It will be one of our main targets, and during this period we could have an excellent chance of spotting it! Its possible appearance is always a unique, unpredictable moment, and of great photographic value.

The huts also have a essential toiletry, useful in case of need during the day.

Hotel & Services

The hotel is located a short distance from the lodges, minimizing travel and allowing for quick return after sessions. The rooms are double rooms with private bathroom, with the possibility of requesting the single room with supplement.

Breakfast and lunch will be prepared for you to enjoy directly in the cabin, while dinner will be served at the hotel, in a quiet and informal atmosphere, perfect for relaxing, sharing the day's snapshots, and preparing for the next day.

The formula full inclusive It allows you to enjoy the experience with complete peace of mind: transfers, meals, huts, overnight stays, and photography support are already organized by Just Explorers. You won't have to worry about a thing, just enjoy the journey and your days in the field.

Day 1 – Arrival and briefing

Arrival is expected at Warsaw in the afternoon, preferably by 4:30 pm, so as to allow for a smooth transfer to the hotel. After the welcome at the airport, a private transfer of approximately two hours will take us to the hut area, in the heart of Polish nature.
Accommodation in rooms and welcome dinner.

In the evening we will have a introductory briefing, useful for getting to know the group, discussing the ideal equipment, clarifying the daily schedule and organizing materials for the next day. It will also be an opportunity to verify batteries, memories, warm clothing and any accessories for winter temperatures.

Days 2–3–4 – Full day from Capanno

Every day will begin very soon, with a pre-dawn wake-up call and a quick breakfast at the hotel. The first lights in the region appear around 07:30 and the goal is to be inside the huts before the activity begins.

From the parking lot awaits us short walk on flat terrain, normally easy, but may require slower paces in snow or ice.

We will remain on stakeout for the whole day, without returning to the hotel, so as to don't miss even a minute of light. Breakfast and lunch will be served directly in the cabin, with meals prepared by the local staff.

The central hours are often very productive, thanks to the soft, diffused winter light which maintains beautiful natural tones until sunset.

The main activity will be dedicated to the’white-tailed sea eagle, with the possibility of photographing it in flight, arriving at perches, feeding and interacting between individuals.

During this period it is possible that some European wolves they cross the clearings looking for territories and partners. This is not a guaranteed sighting., but when it happens it is a real thrill and one of the most sought-after images of the European winter.

In addition to birds of prey and wolves we will also be able to observe foxes, roe deer, woodpeckers, jays and other species that sometimes frequent the spaces in front of the huts.

The activity will continue until sunset, around 4:30 pm, to take advantage of the last bits of light. We'll return to the hotel after sunset, with time for a hot shower and dinner.

The evenings will be dedicated to sharing shots, analyzing images, to the technical discussion and preparation for the next day, with the constant presence of the professional photographer for personalized advice.

Day 5 – Return to Warsaw and conclusion

The last day will begin calmly. After breakfast at the hotel, we will prepare for the return transfer to Warsaw, with expected arrival by lunchtime. From here, everyone can continue on their international flight.

✈️ Which flights should I buy?

For this trip you need to arrive at the airport Warsaw Chopin (WAW) in the afternoon of January 30th, preferably by 4:30 pm, so as to make the transfer to the facility and calmly participate in the dinner and introductory briefing.

For eagles we recommend focal lengths around 300 mm for action and dynamic scenes, while for close-ups and details focal lengths around the 500 mm. For any wolf sightings, the interval 300–500 mm It's perfect. Both zoom and prime lenses will work just fine.

In the huts, full tripods are not necessary. It is sufficient to bring the tripod head, which can be mounted directly into the slots present in the workstations.

This is a winter trip with full days in the cabin. It is important to wear warm clothes, preferably in layers.
There is a heating system in the huts, but may not be used, because the smell of gas can disturb wolves, so it is essential to be prepared to spend several hours sitting in cold temperatures.

This is one of the best photographic hides in Europe for observing and photographing the’white-tailed sea eagle, with a good chance of seeing several individuals together and witnessing spectacular behaviors.
The European wolf It is a possible presence especially at this time of year, but it remains an unpredictable and not guaranteed species: if it appears, it is a truly special moment.
