Central India is a land that welcomes, fascinates, and overwhelms. Here, the landscape alternates between sal forests, golden meadows, and rocky hills that, at dawn, fill with fine vapors and the sounds of animals. In this ancient landscape, where nature still dictates its rhythms, lives the Bengal tiger, one of the most iconic and charismatic predators on the planet.
Parks like Bandhavgarh And Kanha National Park They represent the wild heart of India. These are places where the presence of big cats is still very strong and where, every day, the jungle offers a different story: fresh footprints in the dust, the call of samburu deer signaling a predator, the silent rustle of a leopard among the trees. The atmosphere is dense, suspended, almost cinematic.
Traveling here means entering a rich ecosystem, inhabited not only by tigers but also by leopards, sloth bears, dhols, gaurs, and an incredible variety of birds that enliven the forest with vivid colors and rapid movements. Each safari is a blend of light, anticipation, and emotion, where just a minute can transform a tranquil scene into a memorable encounter.
Central India is more than just a destination: it's an intense sensory and photographic experience, designed for those who want to experience nature in a profound, ethical, and respectful way, and bring home moments that capture the true essence of the jungle.
April, in the midst of the dry season, is undoubtedly the most favourable period for sightings: Waterholes become key activity points, felines move more often in search of refreshment, and more open vegetation allows for better visibility.
6 nights in a double room
Sharon Vanadia
The trip includes six nights in total divided between Bandhavgarh And Kanha, with a total of 12 photographic safaris Led by a professional photographer and certified local guides. Three nights will be spent in Bandhavgarh and three in Kanha, allowing you to explore two different yet complementary ecosystems from a photographic perspective.
Open jeeps, with a maximum of four passengers per vehicle, ensure space, freedom of movement, and optimal shooting angles. Local guides know every area of the park and can interpret tracks, acoustic signals, and wildlife behavior to maximize your chances of spotting.
During the safaris you will have the opportunity to photograph not only the Bengal tiger, but also leopards, sloth bears, barasingha, gaur, langur, sambar deer, chital, and a rich variety of tropical birds. The presence of a professional photographer will allow you to improve your field technique, from managing light to composition, and even adopting the right behavior to obtain more narrative and engaging images.
Upon your return, you can relax in the lodges, share the day's most exciting moments, and prepare for the next outings. All logistics, from permit management to gate timings, are designed to ensure a seamless, professional, and stress-free experience.
The trip is also perfect for those who are not photographers. Photographic safaris, in fact, aren't frenetic or chaotic: they involve more relaxed time, longer stops, and special attention to observing animals in their natural habitat. The activities are entirely comparable to a standard tourist safari, simply more carefully planned, better organized, and designed to allow you to experience every moment calmly and deeply.
This makes the experience ideal even for those who simply want to enjoy nature, the magic of the Indian jungle, and the beauty of the encounters, without ever feeling out of place next to the photographers in the group.
Each day includes two safaris, at dawn and in the afternoon, allowing us to experience the two most intense moments of the day directly inside the park. The morning outing will last approximately four hours, starting before sunrise to catch the awakening of the jungle, while the afternoon safari will accompany us until after sunset, when predators are at the peak of their activity and the light creates unique atmospheres.
One of the most fascinating aspects of the forests of central India is that even the most central hours of the morning and afternoon create amazing conditions for photography. Between blades of light, soft shadows and natural contrasts, every phase of the day can offer unique atmospheres and perfect opportunities to tell the story of jungle life.
We will leave soon to always be among the first vehicles at the gate, a significant advantage to immediately reach the most promising areas. We will use some fully open jeeps, inserting maximum 4 people per vehicle To ensure enough space for each participant, the open-top vehicles offer excellent views during the safari, allowing for 360° nature observations.
During the dry season, animals tend to concentrate near the puddles and along the still-active waterways. It is during these hours that the forest reveals its most intense encounters: the tiger striding confidently to the water, the deer peering intently through the trees, the langurs moving swiftly through the canopies illuminated by the low sun, and the sudden appearance of the leopard or the sloth bear, two of the most elusive and fascinating protagonists of the Indian jungle.
With Just Explorers they will be secure permits to access the best areas of the parks, those richest in fauna and with the greatest probability of encountering tigers, leopards and sloth bears. You will be accompanied by our local guides, among the most knowledgeable in central India, they constantly interpret tracks, vocalizations and movements of the fauna to lead us to the most promising spots.
The tour leader and guides work closely together to optimize every phase of the safari, from time management and light analysis to choosing the right camera angles and positioning the vehicle. This coordinated approach makes the experience dynamic, professional, and highly effective from a photographic perspective.
This itinerary is theAlso ideal for those who want to share the experience with a partner or friend, Regardless of your interest in photography, the activities follow the same principles as traditional tourist safaris, simply with a more leisurely pace, longer stops, and a special focus on animal observation.
Those accompanying a photographer will never feel out of place: the trip is designed to be fully enjoyed, even as a naturalistic experience alone. Spectacular forests, thrilling sightings, and unique atmospheres are elements that captivate everyone, photographer or not.
For the double bookings (couples, friends or family sharing a room) you can also access dedicated discounts, designed to make the experience even more convenient.
Contact us to find out about the discounts available on the tour dates.
For the entire duration of the tour we will be staying in two selected lodges For comfort, cleanliness, and a convenient location near the park gates, the spacious and bright rooms are available as twin or double rooms. Single rooms are also available upon request, with a supplement.

Kanha is famous for its wide open spaces and green glades where deer and barasingha graze in the morning while langurs warm themselves on sunlit branches.

The sixth day will be dedicated to exploring new areas of the park, following fresh tracks left in the night dust or calls that indicate the presence of predators.

They are two of my heroes and are some of the best wildlife photographers in the world. This was the trip of a lifetime! We had luxury accommodations and 5 star meals daily. Each photographer had our own row in the vehicles. Highly recommend booking with Michele through his official website if you’re interested in any type of wildlife photography tour. We had all advanced photographers on our trip, but I understand that all levels are welcome to join. What a fun group and experience! Note that the all inclusive photography experience actually cost much less than what you would have to pay on your own! It would have cost around twice as much to reserve the rooms, transfers and private vehicle for a week. I’m really looking forward to my next tour with Michele and Sharon!Josef Gelernter04/02/2024It was truly an amazing and unforgettable experience ! Extremely well organized and managed !
