Get ready to set off on a tour to the northern heart of Spain, where the extraordinary region of Asturias reveals one of the wildest landscapes in the country.
An incredible population of wild cats lives among the valleys, mountains and rivers of this area, thriving among hundreds of species of birds and mammals. This area probably boasts the highest density of these elusive cats in all of Europe.
Summer proves to be the ideal time to observe this species. This season, short grass and long daylight hours provide these cats with ample opportunities to hunt their prey. By engaging in long hunting sessions in open fields, we will try to capture these moments in the best possible way.
For birds, it is equally fascinating, as this region becomes a nesting place for various migratory species. Our trip will include mountain huts and traveling photography, guided by two experienced professionals who will be by your side every step of the way.

We will leave together from Madrid airport and head north, crossing splendid Spain to reach a magical area, full of breathtaking landscapes.
Our tour is designed to offer you the best of nature photography, alternating traveling photography experiences and exclusive sessions in the hut. We will explore two extraordinary huts: one frequented by a family of Golden Eagles and, with a bit of luck, by the mysterious wild cat; the other dedicated to vultures, where you can observe griffon vultures, black vultures, Egyptian vultures, kites and golden eagles in large numbers.
But it doesn't end here! We will have the opportunity to visit high altitude areas in search of the magnificent bluethroat, redstart and other birds that live in these altitudes. And of course, our main focus will be the wildcat. Safari style, we will scan the freshly cut meadows in search of this elusive predator, which during this period loves to hunt mice and moles in the short grass. We might even be lucky enough to spot the Iberian wolf or the Cantabrian bear!

Meeting at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport in the early afternoon and transfer to Asturias where we will stay for 4 nights (4h)
9.00pm Dinner, briefing and overnight stay
5.00 AM: Wake up at dawn and move towards the first photographic hut dedicated to the Golden Eagle and with a bit of luck it will already be possible to spot the wild cat.
11.30 AM Return in the late morning and relax in the hotel
1.00pm: Lunch at the hotel
6.00pm: In the late afternoon we will leave for the first safari dedicated to the wild cat: here we will move in different cars in search of this elusive feline in the areas of greatest density. The cats are sometimes very calm and it is possible to photograph them when getting out of the car.
9.30pm Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
5.00 AM: Wake up at dawn and move towards the first photography hut dedicated to vultures. There are many species sighted here, including griffon vultures, Egyptian vultures, black vultures, golden eagles and, with a bit of luck, some foxes.
11.30 AM Return in the late morning and relax in the hotel
1.00pm: Lunch at the hotel
6.00pm: In the late afternoon we will leave for the first safari dedicated to the wild cat: here we will move in different cars in search of this elusive feline in the areas of greatest density. The cats are sometimes very calm and it is possible to photograph them when getting out of the car.
9.30pm Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
5.00 AM: Wake up at dawn and move to high altitude. We will reach a beautiful area at around 2000m above sea level to dedicate a photographic session to the high altitude avifauna. Sordone, Bluethroat, Redstart are some of the species that we will be able to observe freely and within a few meters without using sheds or anything else. During the journey it will also be possible to observe the wild cat and, with great luck, the Cantabrian brown bear.
11.30/12.00 Return to the hotel
1.00pm Lunch

8.00 AM Breakfast and departure for Madrid with arrival in the early afternoon. (approximately 4 hours)

The program may undergo variations agreed with the group. Any variation will be solely to improve the photographic experience. *We will try to optimize our sessions through the experience of our guide who will help us get closer to wild cat specimens in the open field to obtain close-up images. In fact, the wild cat here is not particularly wary and with the correct behavior it is possible to make excellent approaches.

Always searching for the perfect moment, he strives to capture the magic of sunsets, wildlife encounters and the essence of the natural environment. He works as a professional photographer specializing in landscape and nature photography.

Simply follow the booking procedure by clicking on "Book Now". Once you have entered your personal data, you will only be asked to pay a deposit, not the full price. At the end of the operation the registration will be confirmed. You will then receive a confirmation email once the procedure is completed. The balance will then be requested according to the terms reported at the top of the page, usually 60 days before departure.
A telephoto lens of 300mm or more will undoubtedly be essential for photographing the main subjects of this tour.
We recommend using a camera head and tripod to ensure greater stability when shooting photos and videos.
More detailed information will be provided at the time of registration.
Warm temperatures and no excursions planned. We therefore recommend comfortable and fresh clothing without any need for technical clothing. More information and details will be communicated after registration.
It is essential to be at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport by 3pm on July 31st and depart after 3pm on August 4th. You have the flexibility to choose flights that respect these times and, if necessary, land or depart even earlier or later. Near the airport, you will find several options for additional overnight stays, offering you a convenient solution should you need it. If necessary, after your registration, you will be able to access our dedicated assistance to also receive help with purchasing flights.
By booking by paying the deposit to the organizers you accept the following clauses:
1. Since this is a pre-registration, the organizer will endeavor to promptly communicate any possible change in the price of the tour, characterized by cost fluctuations. An annual price fluctuation of around 5% is highly likely if booking is made more than one year in advance. in relation to potential changes in prices of ground services (for example changes influenced by fluctuating costs of electricity, fuel and more).
2. The price of the entire workshop will be paid via the payment methods offered by the organizer, such as bank transfer, PayPal, credit card or cash according to the procedures and deadlines established by the organizers, taking charge of the transaction costs.
3. In the event that the tour does not take place due to the organiser, the entire amount paid will be refunded.
4. In case of cancellation for personal reasons of any kind and in any case not dependent on the organizer, the deposit and any other registration fees will be retained as a reimbursement of expenses.
5. In case of cancellation for personal reasons within 60 days of departure, the entire balance of the tour will be required.
By registering, paying the deposit and sending your personal data you again accept clauses 1,2,3,4,5.
