Four days immersed in the incredible wild nature of Slovenia. Small villages, endless forests and a surreal silence create the perfect habitat for the main European mammals, which find refuge and tranquility in these woods. Wolves, foxes, lynxes, wild cats and, above all, the brown bear, the undisputed king of these forests. With one of the highest densities in Europe, the brown bear population here is thriving, making Slovenia one of the best destinations for photographing this magnificent animal.
Among these forests there are small wooden huts, surrounded by greenery, where you can enjoy unique experiences. Join us to explore these areas and experience unforgettable moments.
Three nights in a double or triple room

It will be a four-day nature photography experience with a professional photographer by your side. Six photographic sessions from the hide, dedicated to the observation of bears and birds. During these four days, we will explore different locations for spotting European brown bears, in the ideal period when they are most active and when it is easier to spot cubs. The bear's activity is mainly in the afternoon and for this reason we will use the mornings to photograph other interesting subjects. We will have one or two sheds with watering holes dedicated to birdlife and small mammals.
The hides, located in the heart of the forests but easily reachable on foot, make this itinerary accessible to all. Slovenian forests are home to a wide variety of European mammals and birds. With a little luck, in addition to bears, for which the probability of sighting is almost 100%, we will be able to see and photograph dozens of species of birds and perhaps other mammals. Join us to experience this unforgettable photographic adventure.
We plan 6 photo sessions: 3 at sunrise and 3 at sunset.
The sunset sessions will be dedicated to the brown bear, while the dawn sessions will be dedicated to the avifauna.
Why will we use sheds? Shed photography is the ideal method for capturing close-up images of wildlife without disturbing their natural routine.
Shed photography is the ultimate method for capturing close-up images of wildlife without disturbing their natural routine.
The hides we will use have been specially designed to provide comfort during photography sessions and maximize spotting opportunities. We have adopted strategies to eliminate odors, acoustically isolate the environment and use special glass that also ensures visual insulation.
Inside the hides, we will be able to use photographic heads placed in pre-built housing.
The large side windows will allow us to observe the outside world without being seen from the outside. This means that in addition to taking photographs, we will be able to enjoy the natural spectacle just a few meters away.

11.00 am: Hotel accommodation for all participants and presentation of the event and locations. Here the photographer will start with a discussion on the best photographic techniques to use in each hut, remaining available for each participant to find the best settings for your equipment in view of the dense photographic sessions planned.
12.30pm: Lunch at the hotel and transfer to the first photographic location. Here, after a few minutes of travel by car and a short walk in the forest (a few hundred meters) we will reach the first photography hide.
Here we will show the sheds and the best set-up for positioning all the photographic equipment inside. Only two people will be allowed access to each hut.
The session will then continue until sunset (approximately 8.00 pm)
8.30pm: Dinner with the group and overnight stay.
6.30 am: breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the hut with watering hole. Here we will have the opportunity to photograph different species of avifauna including woodpeckers, passerines, shrikes, hawfinches and dozens of other species. At the end of the morning session (usually around 10.00/11.00 am) you return to the hotel and there will be a few free hours in which it will be possible to rest in view of the afternoon session. The professional photographer will be available for any technical questions and to observe the morning's shots.

This itinerary offers a great experience from a photographic point of view, therefore any equipment is sufficient to take home excellent shots. Animals can be observed at all distances, therefore 70-200mm can already be enough to give satisfaction. Despite this, for portrait lovers the advice is to bring with you a focal length of at least 300mm. A medium tele and a wide angle can be useful if you are interested in photographing Slovenian landscapes and forests.
