When?
Every day we offer photo sessions dedicated to the European brown bear in specially set up huts.
The hut sessions:
The sessions take place in the Slovenian forests, on the border with Croatia, where we boast 8 different locations and over 30 professional photography huts. By booking one or more sessions, we guarantee a session in the locations with the best bear activity, thus maximizing the possibilities of observing and photographing this magnificent animal. The sessions take place independently. We will inform you of the meeting point and one of our guides will accompany you to the location. These are short walking routes to the huts, where, in absolute silence, you can immerse yourself in waiting in the wild heart of the Slovenian forests.

Shed photography is the ultimate method for capturing close-up images of wildlife without disturbing their natural routine.
The huts we offer have been specially designed to provide comfort during photography sessions and maximize spotting opportunities. We have adopted strategies to eliminate odors, acoustically isolate the environment and use special glass that also ensures visual insulation.
Inside the sheds, you will be able to use photo heads placed in pre-built housing. The large side windows will allow us to observe the outside world without being seen from the outside. This means that in addition to taking photographs, we will be able to enjoy the natural spectacle just a few meters away.
We will provide you with information regarding the meeting point and time, generally scheduled between 12:30 and 13:00.
Departures for the bear huts take place daily, from 1pm to 2pm (with the exact time communicated by the guide during lunch). Cabin locations range from 5 to 25 km from the property and require a 5 to 35 minute commute.
After a short walk, usually a few hundred meters, the photo session extends until sunset.
At the end of the session, you will be accompanied to your car by our guide. From there, you will have the option to return or book a hotel to spend the night or repeat the experience the next day.

These activities will not be in the presence of a Just Explorers tour leader but the team will follow you during every aspect of this adventure preparing you in the best possible way.

Signing up will be very simple!
Simply follow the booking procedure by clicking on "Book Now". Once you have entered your personal data, you will only be asked to pay a deposit, not the full price. At the end of the operation the registration will be confirmed. You will then receive a confirmation email once the procedure is completed. The balance will then be requested according to the terms reported at the top of the page, usually 60 days before departure.
Animals can be observed at all distances, therefore 70-200mm can already be enough to give satisfaction.
Despite this, for portrait lovers the advice is to bring with you a focal length of at least 300mm.
We recommend dressing in layers. There will be no long hikes; we will reach the huts by car or with short walks. More details on necessary and useful clothing will be communicated after registration.
The reference facilities are located about an hour from Trieste. You can reach the hotel directly by car, or we can organize transfers from Trieste airport on request. Contact us for further information. Detailed information will then be sent upon registration.
By booking by paying the deposit to the organizers you accept the following clauses:
1. Since this is a pre-registration, the organizer will endeavor to promptly communicate any possible change in the price of the tour, characterized by cost fluctuations. An annual price fluctuation of around 5% is highly likely if booking is made more than one year in advance. in relation to potential changes in prices of ground services (for example changes influenced by fluctuating costs of electricity, fuel and more).
2. The price of the entire workshop will be paid via the payment methods offered by the organizer, such as bank transfer, PayPal, credit card or cash according to the procedures and deadlines established by the organizers, taking charge of the transaction costs.
3. In the event that the tour does not take place due to the organiser, the entire amount paid will be refunded.
4. In case of cancellation for personal reasons of any kind and in any case not dependent on the organizer, the deposit and any other registration fees will be retained as a reimbursement of expenses.
5. In case of cancellation for personal reasons within 60 days of departure, the entire balance of the tour will be required.
By registering, paying the deposit and sending your personal data you again accept clauses 1,2,3,4,5.
