Białowieża Forest, the oldest in Europe, is a precious treasure of biodiversity and uncontaminated beauty. This extraordinary forest extends over 1,500 km² in the north of Poland.
Here, among immense clearings and endless birch forests, over 50 species of mammals and 250 species of avifauna live undisturbed. Among all, the symbol of these lands is undoubtedly the European bison, the largest land mammal on the European continent.
We decided that this animal deserved a tour dedicated exclusively to him. During these five days, we will carry out an expedition around the Białowieża Forest in search of bison and more!

Our expedition will start from Warsaw Chopin Airport, from where a private transfer will take us to Białowieża Forest. We will spend five days immersed in the silence of the oldest European forest, exploring and photographing the rich fauna that populates this magical place.
We have at least six photographic sessions planned, moving with our own vehicles towards the main points of interest in the area to look for the majestic European bison. We will alternate short excursions with car trips to cover as much territory as possible.
The photo sessions will be held every day, in the morning and in the evening, taking advantage of the best hours of light. Depending on the activity of the animals, we will balance the intense photographic activities with moments of relaxation in our welcoming reference structure.
During photo sessions, our main subject will definitely be the European bison. There may be multiple sightings every day, exploring different areas in search of most beautiful and ideal settings for photography. Each session will be itinerant, without sheds, allowing us to photograph these majestic animals from the ground.
While traveling, we do not exclude the possibility of observing other animals such as wolves, moose, deer, foxes, raccoon dogs and, with a bit of luck, even the famous European lynx.
We will travel in a comfortable 9-seater vehicle, which will allow us to move around with our photographic equipment comfort.
At all times, you will be followed by two tour leaders, expert professional photographers of European wildlife, ready to assist you and share their knowledge.
It will be a real expedition. This is why we have chosen an immersive and convivial method of stay.
We will stay in a large farmhouse with 10 beds, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen and unlimited Wi-Fi.
We will be able to organize the rooms in the best possible way and spend the evenings cooking and eating together in our structure.
On the first day, during the journey to the destination, we will stop to do the shopping for the following days, buying everything we need. We will organize meals in a self-managed way to enjoy a 360° group experience.
Everyone will be free to choose what to buy and which menus to prepare, and we will help each other in the kitchen.
Of course, nothing will stop us from visiting some local restaurant for lunch or dinner if we want to try local food and the famous Polish pierogies.

During this tour we will always shoot in an open field and the distances may vary considerably. In some cases, with a little luck, we will be able to shoot comfortably with a lens of around 300mm, while in other cases the distances may require a longer lens, especially for those who prefer portraits.
For ambient images, we recommend lenses between 300 and 400mm. For close-ups and portraits, a 500-600mm lens will be more suitable.
We do not consider the easel essential for this itinerary, but the choice is very personal. We will often be on the move, and using the tripod could slow down sessions and travel. However, if deemed indispensable, it can be used without problems.
The organization is available for any further questions.
Temperatures could be cold and the ground wet. We therefore recommend waterproof boots, heavy trousers and jacket. Hat and gloves are also essential for harsh winter climates.
